Sunshine Plaza is the largest shopping centre on the Sunshine Coast in the Queensland region, with the only department store on the Sunshine Coast, it’s also the region’s leading leisure and entertainment destination. The complex has been serving the local community since 1994 and comprises over 220 stores together with its picturesque Riverwalk dining precinct with family-friendly paddleboats and a 12-screen Birch Carroll & Coyle cinema. It is currently going through an exciting new development. The development scheduled to open in November 2018 will add 33,000m2 of GLA 110 new speciality stores, the regions first David Jones and Big W. Once completed Sunshine Plaza will be classified as a Super Regional Shopping Centre.
We are seeking a skilled, mobile and enthusiastic Retail Manager to help oversee the Sunshine Plaza Shopping Centre retail functions and development, ensuring the delivery of the best outcomes for retailers, stakeholders, and the community. This role is the perfect opportunity to progress your career in Retail management at Lendlease and it is considered a training ground for the position of centre manager or the opportunity to move within retail, nationally. We want to see your experience in shopping centre management, ideally including involvement within a development and your ability and flexibility for building strong relationships with the local community as well as nationally across all stakeholder groups.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong retail and stakeholder management experience, as well as demonstrating sound experience in trade, property or building ideally with previous development exposure. While this role is initially based in the Sunshine Plaza we do require someone who is openly mobile and keen to seek additional challenges and growth across the retail centres in Australia. Your proven leadership ability in managing a team to drive an asset forward will be evident, as will your ability to build strong relationships at all levels, gaining insight into business needs, which will position you well for this role. You’ll have excellent knowledge of retail leases legislation, good financial reporting and budget management skills. If you have had previous retail development experience this would be advantageous, but a willingness to be mobile and transition in to other roles across differing locations is a must.
