Lendlease's Retirement Living business is one of the largest owners, operators and developers of senior living communities in Australia. We currently manage a portfolio of 71 retirement villages across Australia.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our high performing Legal team in our Retirement Living business located at our Melbourne South Wharf Office, in a full-time position.
Reporting to the Head of Legal - Retirement Living, you will be responsible for providing legal support and advice across all business units within the Retirement Living business including development and M&A, village operations, and corporate services. This would include structuring of and documenting transactions in the acquisition of greenfield sites and development of new senior living communities, acquisition and disposal of existing retirement villages as well as advising the operational business on all legal issues from resident contracts to disputes, procurement and asset management, assist in drafting policies and participation in advocacy on any proposed legislative changes.
We are looking for someone with relevant tertiary qualifications with at least 8 years PQE in a broad commercial legal environment in-house or at senior associate level in a top-tier private practice in a property or corporate group. Any experience in the retirement living industry would be viewed favourably. You will be a confident and articulate individual who can competently assist the business with the provision of legal advice in a busy and stimulating environment. You will be a team player, highly motivated and able to proactively manage stakeholders across multiple levels and leverage relationships to resolve issues.
